Enjoy Our Historic Home & Prime Location in University Circle
Adorned in classic red brick with gothic architecture spiraling from the roof to the front door, the Glidden House is a building rich with history. Our Cleveland Ohio hotel was built in 1910 by the illustrious Glidden Family and enjoys a place on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally the home of its two patrons, Frank and Mary Glidden, the Glidden House represents the French Gothic Eclectic style of architecture that was prevalent in this prestigious residential section of Cleveland just off the city’s famed Millionaires Row. In 1953, Case Western Reserve University purchased the house and later in 1989, it was reopened as Glidden House — a historic Cleveland hotel catering to the lodging needs of Cleveland’s cultural University Circle Area. Today, University Circle is a busy urban hub featuring the city’s best museums, prestigious universities, world-renowned hospitals, eclectic eateries and lovely, quiet green spaces. The Glidden House’s central location puts visitors right in the midst of this must-see area of Cleveland.
